Illuminating Stories with Bright Light

TESTIMONIALS | REVIEWS

Jeffrey Halik, Roberts Communications Inc

Seneca Waterways Council, Board Member

“Angelo is a superb filmmaker-artist who works hard to truly understand the subjects of his films and tell their stories in compelling ways. Part of the reason he always delivers outstanding results is that he is uncomromising when it comes to quality. You may not always want to hear the truth Angelo imparts, but he will be the most pleasant person in the room when it happens. He's a gentle soul with powerful skills and uncanny intuition.”

Literacy Volunteers of Rochester

Robert Mahar, Executive Director

On behalf of Literacy Volunteers of Rochester, I want to thank you for all your work on the Back to Basics video. It was a pleasure to work with you. Aside from the quality of your work which was excellent, I think that the thing that struck me most about working with you was the way that you listened to us, from our first meeting. You listened to our story and how we wanted to tell it and used your talents to bring that story to life. Your technical skills are only enhanced by your ability to “tell the story”. Thanks again for all your hard work and we wish you continued success.

John Williams, Development Director

Angelo Mancuso embraced the Literacy Volunteers of Rochester mission and translated it expertly into an appealing and engaging video. He applied his professional film and editing talents to capture the essence of our adult learner/tutor experience. I would recommend his services to any organization seeking greater community awareness of its programs and opportunities.

Magellan® Realty Inc.

Kim Barrett, Broker/Owner, Magellan®, Inc.

It was a pleasure working with such a professional team dedicated to making sure that the client in the end was as happy with the work as those who produced it. Thanks Angelo for a great job!

Amy DeSouza, , V.P. Marketing & Business Development, Magellan®, Inc.

From start to finish, Angelo was professional, insightful, and accommodating. It was a pleasure to work with him on our first instructional DVD, and I look forward to future projects.

Seneca Waterways Council, Boys Scouts of America

Jon Brennan, Finance Director

It is always a pleasure to work with individuals who are committed to make a difference.  Angelo Mancuso is one of those individuals.  The films that Angelo has produced for the Seneca Waterways Council has made a difference in our fundraising efforts.  I look forward to future projects.

Brad VanAuken, President, BrandForward, Inc.

“Angelo serves on the Seneca Waterways Council (BSA) marketing committee that I chair. He consistently provides insightful opinions and input at our meetings. He has also developed short films that we have successfully used for fundraising. Besides being a talented film maker, he is a caring and passionate volunteer.”

Alternatives for Battered Women, Inc.

Cathy Mazzotta, LCSW, Executive Director

Angelo worked with us on a tight budget, both time- and money-wise, and yet still created a piece that is moving, effective, and heartfelt.  He worked with us every step of the way, from start to finish, to ensure a high-quality product. He thoroughly understood both the issue of domestic/dating violence, and our agency.  We’d work with him again in a heartbeat!

American Harvest Reviews

Nick Francesco
There are two types of documentaries – those that push a specific agenda, and those that simply try to show us the truth of a situation, and let us decide for ourselves how we feel about that. Mancuso has crafted an excellent example of that second type. But whether you bring to this film your own bias – in either direction – or look at it with an open mind, you will be moved by the power in this narrative.

The film is called American Harvest. Look for it; it's what a documentary should be."

“If you’ve ever eaten fruits and vegetables you must see this film!
Bob Russell, Exec. Director, Little Theater

"Whether you bring to this film your own bias – in either direction – or look at it with an open mind, you will be moved by the power in this narrative. Look for it. It's what a documentary should be."
Nick Francesco - WHAM, Clear Channel

"The documentary 'American Harvest' powerfully portrays the truth about agriculture and migrant labor in the United States at the present time. In a series of candid interviews with farmers and farmworkers from Florida to Maine the viewer objectively learns the facts and dispels the myths connected with migrant farmworkers. The film portrays the migrant reality that can’t be ignored and which is rarely seen by most people. It’s a must see if we are serious about the truth of migrant workers."
Sister Janet Korn, RSM
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Rochester

“As the debate over immigration reform continues, this movie offers a fair and amazingly frank portrait of the challenges that we now face. It accurately represents both the grower and the worker difficulties and offers insight into a side of this issue that is rarely brought to light.”
John Lincoln, President, New York Farm Bureau

“Your film sheds much light on the current national debate over immigration policy. Those of us in agriculture have rarely seen such a balanced, forthright discussion of these issues in any medium. “American Harvest” provides much-needed perspective, one that encourages rational and reasonable debate.”
Don Lipton – Director of Public Relations
American Farm Bureau Federation

"I would encourage all Americans to see your film. American Harvest encourages viewers to look at the immigration issue from the farmers and farmworkers viewpoints a side of the issue that is rarely if ever discussed."
Mike Gempler, President
National Council of Agricultural Employers

“This film is a must see for 99% of the American people that work outside of agriculture.”
Craig Regelbrugge
Co-Chair, Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform
Vice President of Government Relations and Research
American Nursery & Landscape Association

film video production rochester new york

Film/Video/HD Production, Hi-Def, Broadcast, Films for Theatrical release, TV Shows, EPKs, DVD Featurettes, Behind the Scenes Shoots & Interviews for DVDs & EPKs, Event Coordination, Multimedia (CD ROMs, DVDs, and Interactive Manuals), Websites, Databases, and Print Media & Packaging.

Located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State, Rochester offers beautiful locations scouting and extensive film production resources and services.

Rochester is home to one of the largest, most well developed and cost-competitive film & video production communities in the East (largest in NYS outside NYC) with picturesque, landmark locations.

Rochester, New York

Rochester is home to many outstanding world leaders in image technology and scholarship, including Eastman Kodak, Xerox Corporation, Bausch & Lomb, International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House, University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, American Video Institute, Visual Studies Workshop and many more. The George Eastman House holds one of the world's largest collections of archival films and is renowned for state-of-the-art film preservation technology. Almost 100 Fortune 500 companies do business in Rochester today, and with $15 billion in annual exports, the Rochester area accounts for 40% of New York's total output, ahead of all but 11 states.

This concentration of activity has made Rochester one of the largest, most active film & video production centers on the East Coast. With its numerous sound stages, post production facilities, fully equipped grip companies and large pool of experienced crew, Rochester has more production-related businesses than its three Upstate neighbors-Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany combined. At the same time, costs for goods and services remain low; Rochester has the third lowest cost of living in the nation when compared to 14 other comparable cities.

Rochester is convenient to all the major production centers in the East, a short distance from both Manhattan and Toronto, within overnight truck delivery zones from Boston, Chicago, Montreal, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Detroit and Pittsburgh.
General Information/ Demographic Data

Rochester is New York State's third largest city; SMSA population is just over one million.

It is located in the Western half of the state, on the south shore of Lake Ontario, halfway between Buffalo and Syracuse.

The Genesee River runs through the center of the City, and the 96-foot high Upper Falls are within walking distance of Main Street. Within a 499-mile radius are 12 northeastern states, the nation's capital and the two most populated Canadian Provinces.
Finger Lakes Region

The Rochester/Finger Lakes Film & Video Office serves 17 counties of Central and Western New York, covering some of the most beautiful, richly varied territory in the United States. Known for its spectacular waterfalls and gorges (downtown Rochester itself straddles the 96 ft. Upper Falls) the Finger Lakes is also the 2nd largest wine producing region in the country; its steeply sloping vineyards and clear blue lakes make it ideal for doubling the picturesque wineries and lush grape-growing valleys of Europe.

The region is equally rich in historic towns and 19th Century architecture, with an abundance of picturesque hamlets and harbors. Villages like Skaneateles, Hammondsport, Pultneyville, Angelica and Bath transport the visitor to the quaint country and seaside atmosphere of the last century.

There are a variety of specialty attractions as well, like a working steam railroad, a fully restored 19th century village/living museum, a Grand Prix race course and one of the worlds largest collections of fully operational WWII era warplanes. Old world wineries dot the hillsides, while unique Art Deco and Modernist structures abound in some of the larger centers like Syracuse and Elmira. Locations ranging from stately mansions to historic districts and high tech city centers can be found in Rochester and in the lovely cities and towns of the Finger Lakes. The area abounds with beautiful rambling farms and mills, and of course this is horse country. The Geneseo Hunt Club in Livingston Country hosts the oldest, traditional English-style foxhunt in the country. We have a location for every type of shoot.
